Day 9 - Blessed with His Presence
Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you. Deuteronomy 28:10
The blessing of God’s presence is our protection. I have a friend who shares this story. She was visiting a someone who lived in a high-rise building that was not in the best area of the city. The elevator was not working, and she had to take the stairs. She started up the stairs and had gone up a few flights when she saw two men. They appeared to be drunk and started making lewd remarks about her. Then, suddenly, one of the men said, “Man, leave her alone. Can’t you see that blood all over her?” And they went back down the stairs. She was covered by the blood of Jesus. God’s sinless, spotless lamb.
In these days and time when there is so much uncertainty and escalating violence, it is comforting to know that the blood of Jesus is like an invisible shield around us. God watches over His own. He stands guard and never sleeps or leaves us unattended. The presence of the Lord in our lives will not be hidden. It will be seen and experienced by others.
So, we pray. God let your presence be seen in us and let it be the magnet which draws people to you. We pray also for your protection upon our family, friends and possessions. Amen.
