IN A MINUTE: Having Ears To Hear
Joshua when in a great battle. The sun was going down and the enemy was not totally defeated. Joshua knew that complete victory would not be possible with decreased visibility. So, in an unprecedented act of boldness, he commanded the sun to stand still. And guess what? God listened. God did exactly what Joshua had requested. Then, Joshua was able to wipe out his enemies.
An incredible story, isn’t it? When I read it, I am sometimes tempted to focus on Joshua the great warrior. However, I’m not sure that is where my focus needs to be. I believe, I need to focus on God, the Great Listener. You see, this story tells me that God is listening to our cry for help when we face some of life’s greatest battles.
He wants us to be a victorious people. I don’t know what you are battling today. It could be cancer, depression, rejection, an addiction, or anxiety. I want you to know that God listens as you ask Him for what you need to gain victory over your enemy. Psalms 34:15 says, “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.”
His ears are open and He hears you when you call upon Him.
Psalm 18:3 “I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from my enemies.”
